New Zealand At War

WALT: Summarise a text by identifying key words Task Discpirtion: This presentation is about the New Zealand War and what happened back in the day.The New Zealand War started with The Big 3 (The United States,United Kingdom and Soviet Union) going to Paris.Once the big 3 were there they had to sign the Treaty of Versailles but what happened was that Germany got mad because they weren't invited,so Germany wanted war between The 3 countries.

Geometry Maths Introduction

WALT: Use and Understand Geometry terms to solve our MathsTask Discription: Geometry is about Maths and about Transformation,Symmetry,Translated,Reflection,and Rotation.Translation and Translated is very simmlar to eachother,they both move.Translation and Translated is about moving the number to a direction,example 5 up 2 left that means you have to move the number 5 times up and 2 times left.Symmetry and Reflection is also very similar too.Symmetry is about splitting it and Reflection is about is a reflection of it,example split the square in to half and make sure it is the same shape as the other half like a Reflection.Last one is Rotation.Rotation is about rotating the shape,example rotate the shape anticlockwise 2 times then you rotate the shape see where it is.Thank you for reading.

Guest Speakers

Today we had Guest Speakers come into our school,and there names are Jason Young,Fiona Bakulich and Tanielu Tele'a there family.The reason why we had this is because team 5 is working on there Malanga which means journey and also our future career.

The first person who went up to speak was Jason Young,he is 48 years old,grew up in Glenn Innes and came to Pt England school when he was very young.His career is working as a builder at DysartHe is like family to the Tele'a fmaily because Mrs Tele'a and him grew up with eachother. They have been very close ever since.The other schools that he went to was Tamaki Intermediate and then Tamaki Collage.

The second person who went was Fiona Bukalich. Fiona Bukalichis Mrs Tele'a sister,but the weird part about them was that Mrs Tele'a was born first then Fiona came passed and was born 1 mouth in an 11 days,so there probably there same age. Fiona graduated as a Funeral director and now a senior Funeral director at a Tipene home.The schools that she went to was mangare school with Mrs Tele'a.

Last person of all to talk is Tanielu Tele'a.He plays for Rugby Union and his team are The Blues.He came to Pt England school as well,followed by his little siblings Toreka,Justice and Noelle.In one of his rugby games he got run away and got a try,but some of the years he got injured and mostly got injured on his knee. When it was his first time meeting the Blues he was so shy and nervous to talk to them.

Now team 5 knows what it's like to have amazing jobs like them,getting paid and learning a lot of things.
